Roofing in Melksham
Not every ageing roof needs replacing — most of Melksham's don't, yet.
Melksham's a straightforward run north for us — about twenty minutes from the yard, less if the traffic through Shaw is kind. The town itself keeps a small Georgian core around the Market Place and the old Town Hall, but most of what we're called out to sits well beyond that: Bowerhill and the estates spreading east are some of the biggest housing growth in the area, built on the back of the town's industrial past — the old Avon Rubber works rather than anything postcard-pretty.
That newer stock is what makes Melksham different from the heritage towns we cover. Concrete interlocking tile went up across most of these estates from the 1970s onwards, and a lot of it's now old enough that nail fatigue, slipped tiles and perished felt underlay are turning up as a matter of course, alongside uPVC fascias, soffits and plastic guttering reaching the end of their working life. Extensions and conservatories add flat roofs into the mix — felt and EPDM mostly. Worth saying plainly: a thirty-year-old estate roof asking for attention is usually still a repair job, not an automatic full replacement.

The jobs that come with newer housing stock.

Roof Repairs
Slipped tiles, nail fatigue and perished felt underlay — the standard call from the estates around Bowerhill and the east side of town.

Flat Roofing
Felt and EPDM on extensions, conservatories and garages — the flat-roof jobs that come with a town built up rather than out.

uPVC Fascias & Soffits
Fascias, soffits and plastic guttering reaching the end of their life on the estates around Bowerhill — most of it original to the build.
