Roofing in Bath
The Georgian slate isn't the problem. What's hidden behind the parapet is.
Bath is our longest regular run — about half an hour north-west up the A36, through Bradford-on-Avon most of the way. It isn't a Wiltshire job by any measure: a Georgian World Heritage city built almost entirely from Bath stone, with the crescents, terraces and townhouses around the Circus and Great Pulteney Street as recognisable from the air as from the street. The city climbs the hills around that centre too, with Victorian terraces higher up and modern suburban infill further out, neither under the same planning constraints as the centre itself.
The Georgian roofs are Welsh slate almost without exception, and the real problem isn't the slate — it's the parapet and valley gutters hidden behind the parapet walls. A blockage or a failed lining there sends water straight into the structure with no visible warning, sometimes for months. Add extensive leadwork, mansard and butterfly roofs pitched steeply enough to need proper access planning, and terraced streets with no side entry for scaffolding, and it's the most technical roofing we cover anywhere. Conservation area and listed building consent is the homeowner's responsibility — we work to whatever's been approved, nothing more.
Services in Bath
The work that comes with Bath stone and Georgian roofs.

Tile & Slate Roofing
Welsh slate across the Georgian crescents and terraces, matched and re-laid to keep the roofline consistent street to street.

Roof Repairs
Parapet and valley gutter repairs hidden behind the parapet walls — the leak you can't see coming until the ceiling tells you.

Roof Replacement
Full re-roofs on mansard and butterfly roofs, with the leadwork and access planning that steep pitches and terraced streets demand.
